The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine rank Eastern Michigan University’s Graduate Entrepreneurship Program in the top 50 in the U.S.

Eastern Michigan University’s Master of Science in Management of Innovation and Strategy program has recently been recognized as one of the top entrepreneurship programs in the United States. The program has achieved a top-50 ranking and is ranked as the No. 9 best program in the Midwest by The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine. This prestigious ranking is a testament to the quality of education and opportunities provided by EMU’s entrepreneurship program.

The selection process for the 2025 ranking lists was based on a survey conducted by The Princeton Review, which gathered input from administrators at nearly 300 schools in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe offering entrepreneurship courses. The methodology considered more than 40 data points covering various aspects of school programs, faculties, students, and alumni. Eastern Michigan University’s entrepreneurship program stood out for its interdisciplinary and experiential approach, which equips students with essential tools for opportunity assessment, market analysis, and strategic entrepreneurial decision-making.

Graduates of EMU’s entrepreneurship program are making a significant impact as founders, innovation managers, and leaders in various sectors, including public, private, and nonprofit organizations. This success can be attributed to the practical and flexible learning formats offered by the program, including online and hybrid options that cater to diverse student needs. One of the unique features of the program is the field study course, which allows students to work directly with small business owners to solve real-world challenges. This hands-on experience provides students with a competitive advantage in the entrepreneurial landscape.

Sanjib Chowdhury, the director of EMU’s Center for Entrepreneurship Management, emphasized the importance of the program’s applied approach in developing students’ entrepreneurial skills. The program’s partnerships with local entrepreneurs and the Small Business Development Center offer students unparalleled experiential learning opportunities. Additionally, EMU recently introduced an executive certificate in entrepreneurship, an eight-week hybrid program designed for busy professionals looking to enhance their entrepreneurial skills.

EMU encourages students with diverse educational backgrounds to enroll in their graduate entrepreneurship courses, which are complemented by various co-curricular programs aimed at honing students’ skills and fostering creativity. The program offers an MBA with an entrepreneurship concentration or a graduate certificate in entrepreneurship, both of which can be completed through hybrid or online formats.
