Ohio’s online programs continue to excel in latest U.S. News rankings, ranking among the best in the state and nation

Ohio University’s online programs have once again been recognized for their excellence, with several programs ranking top in the state and among the best nationally in the latest U.S. News & World Report list of “Best Online Programs.” This recognition is a testament to the university’s commitment to providing high-quality and accessible online education to students regardless of their location.

In the overall rankings, Ohio University moved up to 115th nationally in best online bachelor’s programs, showcasing the university’s dedication to continuously improving its online offerings. Out of the nine programmatic areas ranked this year by U.S. News, Ohio University was listed in the top 100 for eight of them, highlighting the breadth and depth of the university’s online programs.

President Lori Stewart Gonzalez expressed her pride in Ohio University’s recognition by U.S. News & World Report, emphasizing the university’s mission to create online programs that help students achieve their goals and set them up for success in their careers. Among the standout programs at Ohio University are the online bachelor’s programs in psychology and business, which were ranked among the best in the nation. The online bachelor’s program in psychology tied for 18th in the nation, moving up sixteen spots from the previous year and earning the title of best in the state. Similarly, the online bachelor’s program in business tied for 23rd in the nation, climbing nine spots from the previous year and also being named the best in Ohio.

Ohio University’s online master’s in nursing program has also seen significant improvement in U.S. News’ rankings, moving up from 51st in 2022 to 46th in 2023. This year, the program jumped 26 spots and is now tied for 20th in the nation, ranking second in the state of Ohio. Additionally, the university’s RN to BSN program was named one of the top two online programs in the nation by allnurses.com, maintaining its position as the top program among public schools.

In addition to the strong rankings in specific programs, Ohio University was also recognized for its support of veterans and active military students. The university was ranked 33rd in best online master’s in business programs for veterans and first in the state, as well as tied for 65th in best online bachelor’s programs for veterans and second in Ohio. Ohio University has a long-standing commitment to supporting military-affiliated students and has been recognized as a Yellow Ribbon School, a military-friendly school, and a Collegiate Purple Star campus.
