Emory’s entrepreneurship and innovation resources now available on new website hub

Emory University has taken a significant step towards enhancing its entrepreneurship and innovation efforts with the launch of a new website dedicated to promoting the array of resources available for the university community. The team responsible for integrating and elevating Emory’s entrepreneurial ecosystem has created a centralized online platform that connects faculty, staff, students, and learners with existing programs, personnel, and resources on campus and in Atlanta.

The website serves as a hub for individuals involved in various aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation, providing specific pathways and guides for those working on drug development or software, devices, and other innovations. According to Wilbur Lam, the university’s inaugural vice provost for entrepreneurship and a professor in the School of Medicine, the goal of the website is to help faculty and students visualize the entrepreneurship and innovation pipeline at Emory, regardless of where they are in their journey.

Lam, who was appointed in April, has been tasked with fostering a vibrant startup culture across Emory University and Emory Healthcare, as well as integrating innovation into the overall academic experience. One of his key initiatives has been to engage with leaders, schools, and units to create and promote defined pathways for faculty and student entrepreneurship.

For students interested in entrepreneurship, the website highlights resources such as the Roberto C. Goizueta Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation and The Hatchery. These programs offer mentorship and support for students looking to turn their ideas into marketable products and services. The Hatchery, founded in 2020, has already supported over 200 student ventures and launched more than 60.

Faculty members at Emory now have access to step-by-step guides on how to develop promising new pharmaceuticals, devices, software, diagnostics, and other inventions into viable products and services. Each pathway outlined on the website includes resource links to Emory units like the Office of Transfer Technology, Center for New Medicines, and Emory Entrepreneurship Clinic, among others.

By providing simplified access to the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem at Emory, the website aims to build connections and spark entrepreneurial pursuits within the university community. Faculty, staff, students, and learners are encouraged to visit the Entrepreneurship and Innovation website to learn more about the resources, programs, and events available to support their entrepreneurial endeavors. With a vast and robust innovation ecosystem at their fingertips, the Emory community is well-equipped to drive forward groundbreaking ideas and initiatives.
