On March 28, 2025, Montclair State University made a significant announcement by launching four new fully online degree and certificate programs. These programs are designed to cater to students seeking a bachelor’s or master’s education in in-demand career paths such as strategic communication, economics, supply chain management, and family science and human development. The flexibility of these online offerings allows students to complete coursework at their own pace while still engaging with faculty and classmates.
The first program introduced is the Online Master’s in Strategic Communication and Media. This fully asynchronous program offers students the opportunity to develop skills in social media strategy, data analytics, content creation, audience analysis, and crisis communication. Additionally, students have the option to participate in an optional hybrid Industry Bootcamp that will prepare them for communication and media jobs in the digital age.
The second program, the Online Bachelor’s in Family Science and Human Development, is a nationally-recognized Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) program. Students enrolled in this program will gain an interdisciplinary understanding of the various factors that impact individuals, families, and communities. Graduates will be prepared for high-demand jobs in human services, mental health, non-profit organizations, community advocacy, and research.
The Online Bachelor’s in Economics, offered through the AACSB-accredited Feliciano School of Business, is the third program introduced by Montclair State University. Lastly, the university introduced the Online Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management, the only program of its kind in New Jersey. This program offers a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates cutting-edge supply chain strategies and sustainable practices to prepare students for high-demand jobs in roles such as Supply Chain Analyst, Logistics Manager, Demand Planner, and Operations Manager.
Montclair State University now offers more than 30 online degree and certificate programs in a variety of in-demand fields.
