FSU’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship Launches Online Marketplace for Student Creators

Florida State University’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship has recently partnered with Student-Made, a custom online marketplace that allows FSU student entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products and services on a larger scale. Founded in 2019, Student-Made is a student-run program that connects students, alumni, and the local community, providing valuable real-life experiences and opportunities for students to share their passions with others. FSU is one of 14 campuses nationwide participating in this innovative marketplace.

The FSU program boasts a team of 16 student entrepreneurs and 7 student managers who operate the Student-Made platform. The student managers handle the backend logistics and support, while the student creators are the entrepreneurs who sign up to sell their products or services. This unique setup allows students to gain hands-on business experience and develop essential skills needed to thrive as entrepreneurs in the future.

One of the standout student entrepreneurs in the FSU program is Tyana Folston, the creator of Fairy.ty.le. Her innovative products have gained attention and traction within the marketplace, showcasing the creativity and talent of FSU students. Additionally, the student managers, including individuals like Alfredo Rosing, a retail entrepreneurship major, play a crucial role in supporting the creators and ensuring the success of the platform.

All sellers on the Student-Made platform have access to the Jim Moran College InNOLEvation® Center for Student Engagement, which provides entrepreneurial opportunities for all FSU students, regardless of their major. This center helps students launch their own ventures and showcases their business ideas, fostering a culture of innovation and creativity on campus.

The Blackstone LaunchPad, located within the InNOLEvation® Center, aims to support diverse and historically underserved students in developing entrepreneurship and innovation skills. Through mentorship programs, workshops, and events, the LaunchPad helps students turn their ideas into successful businesses. This collaborative effort between Student-Made, the InNOLEvation® Center, and the Blackstone LaunchPad demonstrates FSU’s commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of its students.

Overall, the partnership between FSU and Student-Made is a testament to the university’s dedication to supporting student entrepreneurs and fostering a culture of innovation and creativity on campus. By providing a platform for students to showcase their products and services, FSU is empowering the next generation of business leaders and changemakers.
