The first step in your entrepreneurial journey is attending the Info/Ideation Sessions held in Beck Hall 119. These sessions, scheduled on various dates from February to April, provide valuable insights into the Gustie Cup competition and offer resources, support, and working sessions to help you refine your business ideas. You’ll have the chance to learn from past participants, engage in ideation exercises, and equip yourself with the necessary tools to formulate innovative business concepts.
Following the ideation sessions, the Start-up Labs in Beck Hall 144 Student Interaction Room offer a confidential space for you to explore your ideas further. These labs, scheduled in March and April, focus on building a solid business plan, assessing your chances of success, and determining if entrepreneurship aligns with your goals. By the end of these sessions, you’ll have a framework and tools to shape your business plan and decide on your next steps.
Once you have a clear business plan in place, it’s time to hone your pitching skills at the Pitch Practice sessions. Scheduled in April, these sessions provide templates, tools, and tips to help you craft a compelling pitch for the Gustie Cup competition. You’ll have the opportunity to practice your pitch, receive feedback, and refine your presentation to stand out to the judges. Remember, the Gustie Cup Application Deadline is on April 17th, so make sure you’re well-prepared before submitting your application.
After submitting your application, selected students will have the chance to participate in Alumni Mentor/Coaching sessions. These 1:1 sessions, conducted via phone or Zoom, allow you to share your business idea with a panel of alumni mentors, receive feedback, and refine your pitch further. This personalized coaching experience will help you fine-tune your presentation and increase your chances of success at the Gustie Cup competition.
Finally, the much-anticipated Gustie Cup event is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Beck Hall Atrium.
