The University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business is set to launch an innovative new master’s program designed to cater to the needs of working professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators looking to create and scale new businesses. The Master of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation will offer two distinct tracks: New Venture Development and Corporate Innovation. With 30 credit hours of instruction, the program can be completed in as little as 12 months and is available for enrollment in both the spring and fall semesters.
One of the key features of this program is the one-week in-person residency that kicks off the learning experience. This residency will take place in the vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems of Oklahoma City and Tulsa, providing students with valuable networking opportunities and hands-on project-based learning. Participants will have the chance to engage with University of Oklahoma faculty, successful entrepreneurs, Price College alumni, and a cohort of like-minded peers. Following the residency, students will continue their studies through a combination of live online sessions and asynchronous activities.
Corey Phelps, the dean of Price College and a professor of entrepreneurship, highlighted the significance of the program in the context of the region’s growing startup activity. He emphasized the university’s role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the south-central U.S. and the wealth of resources available to students, including the Tom Love Innovation Hub, Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth, Entrepreneurial Law Center, OK Catalyst program, and the expertise of Price College’s faculty.
Todd Moss, the director of the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation program, expressed excitement about the opportunities the program will offer to students. He noted that the faculty’s leadership within the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem will provide students with a unique chance to not only acquire new skills but also contribute to the economic growth of the region. Moss looks forward to working with the talented individuals that each cohort will attract.
