The Program Rewarding Innovation in STEM Entrepreneurship (PRISE) is now accepting applications for the 2025–26 cohort. PRISE is a cohort-based program specifically designed for undergraduate women interested in entrepreneurship within the STEM fields. The program aims to support and empower women in STEM innovation, discovery, and creativity, addressing the underrepresentation of women in entrepreneurial ventures.
Throughout the program, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the processes of entrepreneurship and innovation, engage in workshops focused on developing a successful entrepreneurial mindset, and receive valuable educational resources. The program is structured to provide a comprehensive learning experience for aspiring female entrepreneurs.
The PRISE program runs from February to May, with participants expected to dedicate 2 to 2.5 hours per week to related programming, including learning sessions, team meetings, and professional development workshops. At the end of the program, students will have the opportunity to present a pitch-deck presentation, showcasing their entrepreneurial ideas and skills. It is important to note that individuals do not need to be STEM students or have prior experience in entrepreneurship to participate in the program; all that is required is a genuine interest in learning about entrepreneurship.
Eligibility for the PRISE program is open to undergraduate women at Case Western Reserve University, regardless of their major or minor. Participants must be able to commit at least 4 to 5 hours per month to the program, including team meetings, learning sessions, workshops, and networking events. This inclusive approach ensures that women from various academic backgrounds have the opportunity to explore entrepreneurship and innovation.
Participants in the PRISE program will receive a range of benefits, including a $500 stipend (subject to program requirements), ongoing support and resources throughout the semester-long program, access to professional development and networking events with like-minded entrepreneurs and business leaders, a copy of the book “All in Startup” by Diana Kander, and education on the basics of entrepreneurship with additional resources to further their learning.
To ensure a successful experience in the program, participants are expected to actively engage with program mentors, attend learning sessions, communicate openly with their teammates and program manager, commit 2 to 2.5 hours per week to the program, meet with their team regularly to develop a pitch presentation, and participate in workshops covering various entrepreneurship-related topics. These expectations are designed to foster a collaborative and supportive environment for participants to grow and develop their entrepreneurial skills.
For those interested in applying to the PRISE program, the application form can be accessed online. Applications will be reviewed starting on January 24th. Additionally, an information session will be held on Wednesday, January 22nd from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom for individuals who want to learn more about the program. For further information and to request the Zoom link for the information session, interested individuals can contact Leslie Lim, the leadership programs manager, at lxl1004@case.edu.
In conclusion, the PRISE program offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate women at Case Western Reserve University to explore entrepreneurship and innovation in the STEM fields. By providing valuable resources, support, and educational opportunities, the program aims to empower women to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations and make a meaningful impact in the world of business and technology.
