June 2025 Release Highlights
The June 2025 release of the ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App introduces significant updates that enhance your analysis and community intelligence capabilities. Here’s a closer look at what’s new:
1. License Changes for ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App
Great news for ArcGIS Online users! With the June 2025 update, any user with a Creator user type or above will now have access to the ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App Standard license, included among the apps that come with their license.
The Business Analyst Web App is available in two license levels: Standard and Advanced. The Standard license allows users to view maps, apps, information products, and infographics, while the Advanced license offers more robust analysis capabilities, including custom reports and infographic templates. To help new users get started, we’ve introduced an interactive onboarding experience.
2. Business Analyst Assistant (Preview) Updates
The Business Analyst Assistant has quickly become a favorite among users, and our team is committed to enhancing its performance. This AI productivity tool now supports multiple languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish (both Mexico and Spain).
The assistant has also become smarter, capable of handling complex requests with ease. For instance, you can prompt it to “Find the fire stations within 5 miles around 380 New York St, Redlands CA,” and it will create the site and map for you in just two clicks.
3. Data and Boundaries Updates
Data is the backbone of ArcGIS Business Analyst, and this release expands data availability with updates to several key datasets:
ArcGIS Tapestry
2025/2030 Esri Updated Demographics
American Community Survey data for the U.S. and Puerto Rico
New geographic boundaries for State Legislative Districts and Public Use Microdata Areas (PUMA)
The latest generation of Tapestry segmentation has also been introduced, providing a refreshed user experience and expanded data documentation.
4. New Geographic Boundaries
The June release includes new geographic boundaries for tribal, legislative, and PUMA areas in the United States. These updates are crucial for understanding the extent of tribal territories and analyzing electoral trends, which can significantly impact public service planning.
5. Enhanced Visualizations with Effects Tool
Presenting your analysis results visually is just as important as the data itself. The new Effects tool allows you to add compelling visualizations to your results. After applying effects to your map, you can easily share the results by creating a PDF or image, or by exporting to a new hosted feature service.
6. Points of Interest (POI) Search Enhancements
The POI data feature has been significantly improved, allowing users to search for specific locations like businesses and landmarks more efficiently. The new point data aggregation capability enables dynamic on-the-fly aggregation and visualization of points by sites, hexagons, or geographies, overcoming previous display limits.
7. Suitability Analysis Improvements
Users can now export suitability analysis results to an infographic, providing a comprehensive view of the analysis. The new correlation matrix helps identify and mitigate issues with highly correlated variables, ensuring the accuracy of your results.
8. Infographic Accessibility Improvements
We are dedicated to making our infographics more accessible. Key enhancements include the ability to add alternative text for screen readers and improved keyboard navigation, ensuring a seamless experience for all users.
9. ArcGIS Business Analyst Mobile App Updates
For those on the go, the ArcGIS Business Analyst mobile app has been updated to include new Tapestry segmentation infographics, aligning with the web app’s capabilities.
10. Updates to Business Analyst Widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder
The Business Analyst widget now features a new infographic category called “Esri Tabular Reports,” providing presentation-ready designs for improved accessibility. Additionally, custom travel modes are now supported when creating drive times in the widget.
